In 2001, an annual award for outstanding postdoctoral researchers studying memory was established in the name of the founder of the society,Laird Cermak.
In 2017, this award was extended to also honor Suzanne Corkin and her legacy in championing women in science.
Each year, the postdocs selected to receive this award are invited toattend and present at the MDRS annual meeting.
